Okay. I'm down to the last few weeks, and I'm realizing that I still have a truckload of stuff to do. One of which is to pack a hospital bag, for me, dad and baby, and a bag for the kids for when we drop them off with friends.
For those of you who have managed to pack a hospital bag before heading to deliver a baby, (and who have actually used it)...I'm wondering what was your favorite item? What is the one thing that you couldn't live without during delivery...or you wish you would have had? (I know there are lists all over the internet on baby sites, but I don't think half of that gets used. So, let me know... =)

I realized (after I left the hospital after Lydi was born) that I didn't actually have to wear the hospital gown. If I took my own...yeah, it only took me 3 deliveries to figure that one out. I did think to take a robe and slippers, and was glad.
Next time I will take a sign to put on my door saying "leave me alone unless you already know me" because I had soooo many people just poking their heads into my room asking if I wanted a newspaper, etc. The answer is NO! I WANT TO SLEEP! But maybe that's not an issue if you're not in there for several days after a c-section.
I was also glad that I had taken S & E to get presents for the baby and I had gotten presents for them from her. Those were big hits when they came to visit.
That's my advice, but it only addresses the post-birth hospital stay since labor and delivery are not my forte.
Chapstick & socks!

I've never packed a delivery bag but did bring along magazines to flip through after the baby was born, a Nalgene bottle for water and pellet ice refills (those little cups are never big enough) and snacks I like. Of course Micah was happy to supplement hospital food with "real" burgers and cheesy fries.
Something cute for the baby photos--I'm sure you have some darling handmade heirloom. Camera & I can't even remember any more? Hows that for sad.
Maybe a good dvd. Cody and I watched Jurassic Park and the spanish channel (which I liked of course) Maybe that is why Hailee has a pterodactyl cry?!!!
Obviously a hairbrush and hair ties. I can't stand my hair in my face. fingernail clippers for the baby, my kids come out with claws.
