...on the baby front.
yeah, still here, and one of us is constantly kicking.
I was sure that this baby was coming on Wednesday. I got myself ready (and I looked cute!) and the hospital bag, and the kids bag, and their stuff and all my lists of numbers and who to contact and had it all in the car. We went to the park and played and I even took a nap to get ready for a long, busy night. Scott was staying late, and I got the kids fed (cereal, because I didn't want to cook and clean the kitchen) and in bed. And I made pumpkin bread (so then I had to clean the kitchen) and I sat and waited. And waited. And waited. And watched mindless television programming. And with three hours left in the day, I decided that this child better NOT come. Then my sweet husband came home and I bawled in his arms as I explained my expectations of the day and the lack of results. I had even shaved my legs!!! (No small feat in a shower stall)
I spent Thursday being upset and exhausted that my unborn child had failed to make an appearance a week before his due date.
Today my doctor's office called to see if I'd come in and help them test out their new ultrasound machine. Heck yeah! Too bad they couldn't get the 3D and 4D to work. The 2D was pretty cool, though. I got to see his chubby cheeks, little nose and lips. I watched his eye open and look around, his fingers play around his face, his heart beat and lungs expand, and he even yawned. Seeing that he was healthy and active and so beautiful (only a mother can love grainy 2D photos of the unborn!) was such a sweet experience after two tough days. I'm thankful for the reassurance that all is, indeed, well. He's just waiting for the right time to come, which will be on his terms, and not mine. He knows he's got a good thing going right now, and he plans to stay as long as possible!!
Just wanted to let y'all know what was going on. We're just waiting. Who knows, the full moon is scheduled for Monday, so maybe he'll come then!
