Just Another Day in Paradise...

...that almost did me in.

I slave away making a fabulous dinner for my family. Oriental Rice and Sweet-n-Sour Chicken. (in the Crestwood Cookbook, or I'll send you the recipes if you want). One of Scott's favorites. Guess who has to work late? Guess who doesn't like the "look" of the rice? Or the chicken? Guess who can't season the wok (Christmas present) in time (two attempts) to use it for dinner?

C is starving and refuses to eat the rice. He informs me he wants "lonely rice". Sister translates that to mean without all the good vegetables dotted throughout. Shocker. She wantes the same. But she tries the chicken after I tell her its candy chicken. "It's really carmel chicken." she informs me after tasting it. Well, who would've guessed?

After battling with C to taste the chicken, which he flatly refuses, I'm incredibly frustrated. My little A angel consoles me with her grown-up wisdom, "It's really hard with little kids sometimes."

Thanks, sweetie, for making me laugh. They may see tomorrow afterall....

It's a good thing you have another adult to commiserate with...and to translate what the "little kids" say!
