Lots of Baby

We didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. We chose, on purpose, not to find out. Drove some people crazy.

All I knew was that I felt HUGE. For a long time. I even grew out of my maternity clothes.

In October, people started asking me if I was ready to "pop" . Uhm, no. Still some time left.

In November they started asking if I was carrying twins. Uhm, no. Pretty sure there's only ONE baby in there.

In December they started smiling politely and asking when I was due. I liked to tell them any minute. They got out of my way. Fast.

I felt so large that I was SURE I would deliver this child before the due date. Uhm, no. Due date came, and I still looked like this:

Sweet, charming, and excessively round.

(You can't really tell, but the lower portion of the belly was horizontal...I'm sparing the world the belly-shot that proves it...just trust me.)

Which is about how I looked three days later when we discovered that this is who had been taking up so much space. Our little man and his Olympic sized swimming pool.

He weighed in at 10lbs 5oz, and measured 22 inches long. That's a lot of baby my friends!!

Congratulations!!! I have felt your pain--in fact, with Jericho, I convinced the doctor to deliver him 11 days early, because I KNEW he was huge. When he came out, the doctor, who had thought I was just a big complainer, was in shock 10lb. 11oz.
Glad I didn't wait 11 days more! The good news is that the bigger they are, the better they sleep! He is soo adorable. And you, my dear, are AMAZING!

Birthing a ten-pounder should mean you get some sort of medal or at least a fuzzy tiara.

My belly sat on the chair in front of me and I still had to lean back a little to give it room....with six-pounders.

You are my hero.

But you already knew that.

:)

He is so much chubby cuteness. I love that little round face. I can't believe you beat me...my biggest was a (comparatively) tiny 9 pounds 13 ounces. I'm willing to give you the win. I will not be going for the record with this latest one. I'm hoping for a nice 7 pounder. I can dream, right?

As for you, your pregnant self is adorable. Totally and completely feminine. (Part of feminine is pain, right? Unfortunately...)

Your family is so cute. I miss you.

Ahh! Well, you did, indeed, have one big reason your belly grew. But, he is 100% doll. One, snuggly sweet baby. That last photo is soooo precious. Love it. That is one to cherish for sure! We'd love to meet him soon. The kids are excited for Jack's siblings. : )
