I'm so dang excited I can hardly stand it. I'm trying to ignore the frost on the ground this morning and instead focus on the neighbors daffodils. Lovely buttery yellow blossoms. *Sigh* I love spring.
Now, for my long blogging absence. I only have these excuses: I was rushing madly to figure out/finish A's Easter dress (as seen in the pictures to the side), pack and straighten the house so we (the children and I) could leave to UT for a week for spring break, and S took the computer (yes, physically removed from the house) for the week prior. I've just returned from spending a week at my in-laws without my husband. My own lovely parents are on a mission to Nauvoo (details later), and while I love my in-laws, I have discovered a few things:
1) after 3-5 days guests and fish both stink. Seriously. I have only about 5 days of pleasant "niceness" in me, before I feel like I'm not on vacation anymore. I must relocate every five days (or less). If you want to come visit, plan on 4 days. That way we will still be friends when you leave. =)
2) traveling with the kids and no husband stinks worse than old fish. I need daddy to be a buffer with the kids, and the kids need daddy to be a buffer with mommy.
3) mommy is not a jungle-gym. the kids need rough-house time that mommy can't provide as well as daddy.
4) C knows how to push my buttons very, very, very well. I don't like PDA's (public displays of affection) and I like PDD's (Public Displays of Discipline) even less. Needless to say, I was responsible for a few of those last week.
5) seeing family is alot of fun. I like re-connecting, then I don't feel like I live quite so far away.
anyway. enough for now. I still have suitcases to unpack. And the kids have pulled out every toy they own...just to make sure they're still there, I suppose...

I'm so glad you're back!!! I've been missing you like crazy...did Scott tell you I called to make sure you hadn't disappeared?
I'm sooo with you about spring. Here, it is so gorgeous. Two words: azaleas, wisteria. Amazing. I'll be blogging about it after I get some pictures.
Alice's dress is adorable. Love the new pics of the kids.
Now that you're back...don't leave me like that again! :)
it was awesome seeing you guys! we'll try to make it your way next time.
Welcome back! Springtime in the beautiful pacific northwest is just that, beautiful! But Albuquerque isn't looking to bad either!

I was getting worried. . . I like your phrasing--PDD's--I am CONSTANTLY doing that. And I still dont like it. Staying at inlaws without the spouse is hard. I will be living with Steve's mom for who knows how long, starting next month. Wish me luck. . .
I hope you are having a good week! I'll be thinking of you!
I love those picture of your beautiful children on the side bar. I can't believe how much older the look. So sweet.
